I remember .................

Newspapers in the garden, the 'propaganda'

An american aircraft crashed near our house in Chichester, my pal Reg was badly burned

Running around arms outstretched, pretending to be aeroplanes

D Day, the sky awash with planes

Waiting for the chicken to lay the egg, to make my birthday cake

Hiding under the stairs in an air raid, too young to be scared

The American serviceman and his magic tricks

Aerographs from abroad - censored

Evacuation to Bordon

When the doodlebugs and the tanks came

My father William an auxillary fire fighter

My mother Ivy

V E day at the Cross in Chichester, held aloft on some ones shoulders

How could I ever forget ?
