Jonathan and Joan Wilkinson at the Beja Commonwealth War Cemetery on 3rd November 2005. So many young soldiers from the Hampshires, Leicesters and RA were fatally wounded at the Battle of Sidi Nsir and now lie at rest in Beja.

The Sidi Nsir battlefield lies between Beja and Mateur in north-east Tunisia. On my return to the site with my family, we were able to find the Beja war cemetery. It was a very emotional experience to see the graves of all the young soldiers and airmen who died at this battle. A number were my Hampshire mates.
