I was in M.I.5. during the war. There's not a lot I can tell you; because of the Official Secrets Act.
But, my husband was in the Royal Artillery; taken prisoner of war in Japan; at a very bad time. Came home to tell the tale. And he died four years ago. End of story really.
But…, There's not a lot I can tell you about myself.
Well, obviously, you realize it was a very exacting job; but also very exciting at times; very boring sometimes. I was stationed in London, but travelled around all over the place. It was very tiring, mind you I was a lot younger then. Travelling was tiring; yes, and also some of the fieldwork training. But not only tiring but demoralising in some ways. But I went to France a couple of times. Just for fleeting visits. Not very exciting. Not a lot I can tell you. So, I can't tell you much more.
I was born in London, I am a Cockney.
Ealing, actually, that's not true I was born in the Middlesex hospital in the centre of London but my family lived in Ealing, so I am a true Cockney
