In the childhood of a young woman, living was hard. She lived in a house with parents, brothers and sisters. There was enough room in the house for them all but when weather was bad and it rained, ceilings leaked and beds were not suitable to sleep in. Her parents and brothers slept in the dining room where it was dry and her and her sister went to either their friends or boyfriends houses to sleep. They would go back home to eat etc but sleeping was split up. It was safe in those days to walk miles at the late time of 11pm as opposed to now when you.re not even safe in your front garden. This lady felt this was very sad that it had changed to this level of unsafety. She used to satnd in Bond Gate in Nuneaton and wait for the bus to pick her up and take her to the Long Shoot. While she waited plains went over, she had to go through this every night. Hewr husband was largly involved in the war, being a tank driver. She said he never said a bad word against anyone and only drove the tank. When he was in the war, whilst he was standing waiting one day, a tank blew up infront of him and then behind him. She remembered their life together and how it was a good one.
