I was staying with my Granny in Burghead (Morayshire). The army used the beach for a practice for the D-Day landings. A tank was sunk between Burghead and Findhorn and is still there. The local Home Guard was also involved.

The had landing craft called 鈥渄ucks鈥 that came in off the sea. There were big rolls of wire put down for the tanks to trawl over. I crawled under one and got stuck. I panicked and nearly tore my trousers off trying to get out.
