My lasting Memory of World War II is………………taking part in my first operation as a wireless operator in a Lancaster Bomber in a 1000 bomber raid on the dockyards at Kiel and unaware to us on our return, we discussed we had upturned the Admiral Von Sheer. The next night we were sent to Kiel again to bomb the battleships Emdern and Hippers also in dry dock, but this tie we missed!!
