I was born in 1929. During the war years I lived at home on our farm with my parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Ingleby Grange between Saxilby and Sturton by Stow was taken over as a hostel where land army girls were house. They lived there and were detailed out to work on varous farms in the area. They worked long hours and did most jobs around the farm and in the fields.

My parents had one girl working on our farm
