I have just read in the comments section a letter from a man who is in IT,about the complexity of this site. How I share his views ,in wartime parlance it is a 'minefield'. I have sent in stories, that seem to have been 'torpedoed'. I have now given my self up,and hope to enjoy a brief respite in Stalag Luft 7.

Message 1 - Where have all my stories gone

Posted on: 15 November 2003 by Frank Mee Researcher 241911

Hello Alan,
The easiest way to get a story on is to go to "Personal Story" in the green side panel then follow the instructions.
The problem some people have is after you have previewed your story and checked it out a save button comes up.
You press the save and wait then a panel will come up with your story as saved. This does not send the story.
Below that panel will be buttons to say return to personal page or the important one SEND TO EDITORIAL DESK.
Press that button and you are away and free from your stalag, a few seconds later if you go to Editorial Page in the green panel at the side your story will be there.
I did on checking notice your personal page has no details about you it is always best to write something there even if it says I am Alan Jackson born where ever 19-- what ever. Dont worry we get there I am 74 and can fly round this site now. I will say I am nothing to do with the 麻豆官网首页入口 or the editorial staff as one chap thought, just trying to help you get stories posted is all.
You can come back to me if you have any questions as I say if I can help I will.
PS after previewing this message I had to go to the top of the page and press the BACK arrow which returned me to the original writing then press the post message button on there, you always need to do that so watch for it.
Frank Mee.

Message 1 - Your posts

Alan

Posts are coming in so fast that editing them now seems to be about 6 weeks behind. If you look you will see that they are coming in every few minutes.

If you click on 'Editorial Desk' you will see the latest posts on page 1. But as page 1 fills the bottom older posts are moved on to page 2, and so on. To see any of these older pages scroll to the bottom of page 1 and click on the first link "Click here to see more contribution".

If you want to see your post then click on your user name, this will take you to your Personal Page. You can also scroll down the your Forum Messages where you will see details of all your posts, date submitted, responses, dates of replies, etc.

I very quickly found you post "American Troop Trains" just by clicking on your user name. You will find it here:

A2045206

waiting to be edited but permanently available to all.

The type of question you are asking (regarding your contribution) should not be made here. For that go to the Help page (click on Help on the left here)

Personally, as a webmaster myself, I think this site is very well designed and I do not agree with 'the man who is in IT'.

I should make clear that I have no official connection with this site, I am just a contributor like you.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Petergh
