I remember very quickly grabbing my rifle, running down a gentle slope, across the track (often referred to as a road), slid down a slight embankment and into the Command Post.This morning 26th February,43 was to become the Battery's "Baptism of Fire" Until now it had not heard a shot fired in actual anger. It is as well to remember that the whole Regiment itself had only been formed just over a year ago!
