I was born in 1937 and spent the war years in Croydon, except when evacuated to Loughborough in Leicestershire in the late summer of 1944.
I completed my national service in March of 1958 having been to R.A.F. bases at Cardington, West Kirby, Compton Basset, Bawdsey, Cape Greco, Ayios Nikolias and Nicosia.
I recently retired and moved from Beckenham to Wilby in Suffolk. I would be delighted to hear from any of my former colleagues in the R.A.F. My longest stay was at Bawdsey where I was known as 'Doug'. I would also enjoy hearing from anybody else that knows me from former work-places and from schooldays. I attended school at Elmwood, Lanfranc and Stanley Technical Trade schools up to and including 1953.
