The story, "A very narrow escape" is an extract from my book "It wasn't All Mayhem" . I am 86 years old. Joined the Navy in 1933 and served in the RN and RCN for 35 years. The Philip referred to in the extract was, of course, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh with whom I served for part of the war. I spent the war at sea. The book "It wasn't all Mayhem" is now listed as a best seller on the site "NoSpine.Com" thanks to the publicity received through this site. It provides details of the war at sea. My book, "It wasn't all mayhem" is now in it's second print and available at local bookstores due to the publicity it has received through this site.
