Mam and dad were married in 1941, the next day my father,who was a Royal Marine, went off to war and it was nearly 4 years before my mother saw him again. He was stationed in Exmouth, in Devon while waiting to be demobbed and my mother met up with him there. Exactly nine months after VE day, 8 February I was born. One of the first de-mob babies.
