I know very little about my grandfather or his side of the family. Amazingly I lived with him for the first 12 years of my life but you don't think to ask as a child. Now I'm grown up and he is gone I can't ask him.
He is in an old photograph of a group of men and one woman and they are dressed in what I believe to be AFS uniform. He is wearing this uniform in another old photo which I believe was taken in around 1942.
I want to find out as much as I can about what he did in the AFS and where he worked. I have requested information from the London Fire Service and hope I can get a little bit more information from there. Hopefully someone will read this and can point me in the right direction.
