My family were part of the large British contingent living and working in China from 1900 to 1950. My grandfather was in the Chinese Maritime Customs and was stationed in many of the Treaty ports, from Pakhoi in the south to Tientsin in the north, and spent a lot of time in Shanghai.
During the war they were interned in Japanese Internment Camps in and around Shanghai. I have done extensive research on this topic and spoken to many ex internees.
I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who was interned in China or Hong Kong, or whose family was.
