How do I use parental controls on the mobile/tablet app?

Setting up a parental guidance lock is the best way to control what your children have access to on 麻豆官网首页入口 iPlayer.

Tap Settings (cog icon on the top right of the homepage)聽> Parental Controls and then tap聽Enable parental controls. Then:

Choose and enter a four-digit PIN, then choose and answer a secret question, then tap 'Activate.'

How do I turn off the lock?

Tap Settings聽(cog icon on the top right of the homepage)聽> Parental Controls
Enter your PIN to be taken to the Parental controls menu
Un-tick 'Enable parental controls' to switch off parental controls altogether. You can also choose to have the PIN only for age-restricted programmes, or for switching between profiles.

How can I change the PIN or password?

Tap Settings聽(cog icon on the top right of the homepage)聽> Parental Controls聽>聽PIN Settings
Enter your four-digit PIN
Tap 'PIN and secret question' and make your required changes
Tap Save

What if I forget my PIN or secret answer?

If you forget your PIN, you can use your secret question聽to gain access to the parental controls settings in the app. Just tap Settings聽(cog icon on the top right of the homepage)聽> Parental Controls聽> Forgot聽PIN?聽

Enter your secret answer then make the changes you'd like. Tap Save聽when finished.

If you forget your secret answer, choose Forgot PIN?聽then Forgotten answer?聽and follow the steps on screen. You can change the lock settings via one of the following methods, depending on the device:

Android or Amazon Fire
Go to Settings > Apps > 麻豆官网首页入口 iPlayer > Storage聽and select the 鈥�Clear Data鈥� or 'Clear Storage'聽option. This should reset your parental controls, so you can set up a new PIN and secret question/answer.聽

How do TV parental controls work?

The parental controls on the mobile/tablet app and website use聽a four-digit PIN to control access to guidance-labelled content. On the TV app, users and choose either a PIN or password. When parental controls is turned on, you'll be asked to set a PIN or password. You'll need to enter this to view guidance-labelled content.

What are guidance labels?

Guidance labels let viewers know when content may be unsuitable for younger audiences (e.g. violence, sex, drug use or strong language) or when it may be harmful to some viewers (e.g. containing flashing images). Guidance labelling is usually used for television programmes that were broadcast after the TV watershed (9pm).聽

If a programme has been flagged with parental guidance, it will feature a clear label and a G symbol. Look out for a red聽G towards the bottom left.

Hit the Play button and, when prompted, click聽Turn On PG Lock.
Choose and enter a four digit PIN and press Play.

Your PIN is now set. Next time you try to watch something that we've suggested isn't suitable for kids, you'll see a message explaining why, and you'll have to enter your PIN before you watch.
