The first half was fast and furious with the game swinging from end to end. The pace of Matty R, Jordon D and Max R caused Hesketh many problems for Hesketh and they were then backed up by strong support from midfielders by Scott H and Dan H.听 Hesketh kept up their momentum, though, and caught YMCA out on a few occasions and there were a few goal mouth scrambles. However, the YMCA defence remained calm throughout with Matty W and Tom B remaining solid.

As the second half started it soon became clear that YMCA still had the energy to win the game and 15 minutes after the restart a cross on to the head of Matty W was knocked down to Captain Adam W who fired home to give YMCA the lead.听

Hesketh then began to crumble as YMCA maintained their pacey attacks and comfortably held on to their lead until the end.听 Although keeper Rick H had to pull off some fine saves YMCA's overall team performance proved too much for Hesketh and in a fantastic team display. Scott H was outstanding throughout.
