Champagne rinse?
We were buying toothpaste in our local hypermarket when a young girl asked where something sounding like 'champagne' was, so we directed her to the section where all the drinks were, but she laughed at us and said Non, je cherche le ... and again that mysterious word. Well, my husband and I racked our brains and the only other word we could think of that even vaguely resembled what she was saying was les champignons, mushrooms, but when we pointed her towards where the vegetables were she collapsed into helpless giggles and stumbled away to ask someone more useful. It was only much later that I realised she had been asking about shampoos - in French le shampooing.
