Acquired taste
In one of my undergrad German classes we had to write short stories. Short on time due to my science classes, I decided to translate a story I'd already written, entitled "The Taste of Death". Unfortunately, I took the wrong word from the dictionary, and translated the title as Der Geschmack der Toten, instead of Der Geschmack des Todes - at least my prof saw the humour in it!
