Bladder orchestra
I was teaching British civilisation to a group of young people (16+) and the topic was trade unions, the miners' strikes in the 80s etc. I mentioned the film 'Brassed Off' about a brass band. 'What's the German equivalent?', I asked, 'It's Blasenorchester, isn't it?' and went on to describe the film ... wondering why my students were sniggering. Only then I realised I'd said the equivalent of 'bladder orchestra'. I should have said Blasorchester. Then I couldn't stop laughing!
