Woman and doctor
I was in Germany recently to improve my German. I woke up one morning with a terrible sore throat. I walked into town to find a doctor and was happy to find the plaque Frauenarzt. Even with my basic German it was easy to translate Frau meaning woman, and Arzt meaning doctor. I'm a man who had no problem seeing a woman doctor for my sore throat. At the reception I opened my mouth and pointed in my face. The receptionist looked at me blankly and pointed to the waiting room behind me. Let me just tell you that the German word for "gynaecologist" will never be forgotten.
