Pants or glasses?
I was on a bus in Israel about twenty years ago when I saw a friend on the bus I hadn't recognized. He had his glasses on, and I had never seen him with his glasses before. So I got up to him and said pretty loudly in Hebrew, "Hey Menachem, I didn't recognize you with your mikhnasaaim on!" The whole bus started to laugh, because mishkafaaim is the word for glasses, and mikhnasaaim is the word for pants. What I really said was, "Hey Menachem, I didn't recognize you with your pants on!" After that, it was a long time until I worked up the courage to open my mouth again.
