Bean juice please!
Travelling in Italy for the first time with my Mum, neither of us were very good at the language but Mum always has a go whereas I am a wimp! We decided to stop at a bar where they sold fresh fruit juice, we practised what mum would say at the bar Vorrei succo di fragole, per favore meaning "I would like strawberry juice, please" however what she actually said was Vorrei succo di fagioli, per favore meaning "I would like bean juice, please"! The barman was astonished until he realised, but we still ended up with lovely fresh strawberry juice!

In order to not make mistake and make it more easy for you, when you order/say Oil and Garlic in italian (specially when you try to speak fast), say it as the italians do: Aglio Olio (Garlic Oil). Belive me, it's easy to learn once you revert the order of the words. Plus, do not add the word "and" because it's not necessary. Aglio Olio, when ordering a pasta OK.
I always mix up these two words:
My problem was lampone (raspberry) and lampione (lamp-post).
I always chained my bike to a raspberry and drank lamp-post milk shake.
