Taking the po ...
Chilean Spanish can be a little hard to decipher at times, due to it's speed and overlapping of words. My wife a Chilean, has yet to explain why the inhabitants of her country choose to add po randomly to the end words! Si-po being the favorite along with no-po, ²¹±ç³ÜÃ-±è´Ç, ja-po and so on.

In Chile "po" is an abbreviation of "pues", but used at the end of a phrase to add emphasis.

I heard from some people in Colombia the same custom, or maybe it is better to call it "word game." In many cases, some other people add extra syllables using "p" "vowel inlcuded in the previous syllable", to say, "³§Ã" will be "Si-pi" and "²¹±ç³ÜÃ" will turn to be "a-pa qui-pi", and so on.
A neighbour was trying to learn Spanish using a teaching CD on his computer and although the program had a facility for checking pronunciation he was getting nowhere. He asked my wife who had a reputation amongst the Spanish community here for speaking perfect Castellano, for help. She came home laughing, the CD was American and was teaching Mexican Spanish although the label or instructions didn't mention that fact.
