麻豆官网首页入口 Radio 6 Music Festival returns to Greater Manchester in March 2025

The station will take over some of Greater Manchester鈥檚 much-loved venues to bring listeners a mix of live performances and DJ sets

Today on the 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show (weekdays, 7.30-10.30am), Nick Grimshaw (sitting in for Lauren Laverne) announced that the next 6 Music Festival will take place from Wednesday 26 鈥 Saturday 29 March 2025.

The 6 Music Festival is the station鈥檚 annual, flagship event and is now based permanently in Greater Manchester. It is known for giving audiences performances from their favourite artists that they won鈥檛 see anywhere else - from new music debuts, to one-off collaborations and surprise guests.

Across the four days next March, the station will take over some of Greater Manchester鈥檚 much-loved venues to bring listeners a mix of live performances and DJ sets from a broad range of new and established acts. In addition, 6 Music鈥檚 presenters will also be broadcasting their shows live from MediaCityUK in Salford, as well as from the festival venues.

Samantha Moy, Head of 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio 6 Music says: 鈥淲e鈥檙e really proud that our festival brings listeners truly unique performances from the artists they love, alongside a celebration of the fantastic acts that are emerging from Greater Manchester - and 2025 will be no different. We鈥檙e so looking forward to bringing the whole station to Greater Manchester again and for four days of incredible live music.鈥

The full line-up and venues will be announced in February 2025.

Highlights will also be broadcast on 麻豆官网首页入口 TV, 麻豆官网首页入口 iPlayer and the 麻豆官网首页入口 Music YouTube channel.

About the 6 Music Festival

Since it began in 2014, the 6 Music Festival has taken place all over the UK, including in Manchester, Tyneside, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Camden (London) and Cardiff and has seen performances from artists including Anna Calvi, Arlo Parks, Bombay Bicycle Club, Christine and the Queens, Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Hot Chip, Johnny Marr, Loyle Carner, Khruangbin, Little Simz, Pixies, Primal Scream, R贸is铆n Murphy, Self Esteem, Wet Leg and many more.

Greater Manchester has been the permanent home of the 6 Music Festival since 2023.

The 2024 event saw performances from: Young Fathers, who collaborated with the Hulme and Moss Side based NIA community choir; Gossip, with their first UK show in four years and the global premiere of unreleased material; and The Smile, alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra, which was the first time that the band had ever performed with an orchestra. CMAT, Hak Baker and Jordan Rakei also performed, alongside many others.
