Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Hereford.

The 37-year-old victim suffered stab injuries to his arm at Best Trim Barbers in Belmont between 10:45 and 11:15 BST on Saturday.

The alleged stabbing was believed to have happened on the street outside the barbers as well as inside the premises, West Mercia Police said.

A force spokesperson said the man was being treated for his injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening.

One man, 36, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and another man, 40, has been detained on suspicion of obstructing police and assisting an offender.

Det Con Philip Harvey, of Hereford Police, said it was being treated as an isolated incident and appealed for witnesses to contact the force.
