A man who was critically injured in an explosion at a house in Lancashire has died, his family have said.

Robert Fenwick taken to hospital after the suspected gas blast in Longridge near Preston on 1 September.

His sister-in-law Emma Fenwick posted a statement on Facebook, confirming he had 鈥減assed away peacefully in hospital with his family around him鈥 on Friday.

She said the family would now take time to grieve, "especially considering his two young children and mother, who now need to come to terms with his passing鈥.

Two other people suffered minor injuries after the explosion at the home in Wheatley Drive.

At the time, neighbours told the 麻豆官网首页入口 the blast sounded like 鈥渁n aircraft had landed on a building鈥.

A joint investigation was launched to establish the cause of the explosion, but no further updates have been issued since.
