A cannabis grower was found in a loft after police used heat-sensing equipment to identify a house as a possible drug farm.

Officers used the specialised camera to find the property, in Firemans Row, Sutton-in-Ashfield, was significantly hotter than neighbouring houses.

They found more than 400 cannabis plants in the semi-detached house after forcing entry on 23 February.

Dori Sado, 38, formerly of Firemans Row, Sutton-in-Ashfield, pleaded guilty to producing cannabis and was jailed for 12 months at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.

Nottinghamshire Police said he was found hiding in the loft and was arrested at the scene.

The force also secured a closure notice for the home to prevent anyone else from occupying it for at least three months.
