A man has life-changing injuries after a suspected gas explosion in Cornwall, police have said.

Officers were called to Delaware Road, in Drakewalls, at about 18:45 BST on Sunday.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital where he remains, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The force added emergency services were still at the scene and a 100m (328ft) cordon was in place.

Insp Greg Hodgkiss said: "As far as we can tell it is a domestic property, potentially with a caravan".

He added the investigation was "ongoing".
