A man on a roof has caused "major disruption" to train services by throwing numerous items on the railway tracks in west London.

Police were called to Russell Gardens Mews, near Kensington Olympia station, at 04:21BST to reports of a man on a roof.

London Overground services have been suspended between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction due to the incident.

National Rail said that due to "major disruption" Southern services between Watford Junction/Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction would be affected until the end of the day.

The Met Police said that officers at the scene were trying to speak to the man, following concerns for his welfare.

The force added that they were working to "de-escalate" the situation.
