Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a man and a vehicle in Newton Abbot.

Officers were called at about 18:40 BST on 9 May to a report of a man, who had suffered minor injuries, lying on a grass verge on St Marychurch Road.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was reported the man had exited a silver coloured Renault Clio before being involved in a collision with the Clio, causing him to be knocked to the ground.

A woman aged in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail, the force said.

Officers are keen to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam footage.
