Arrest after cyclist seriously injured in collision
A man has been arrested after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Leicestershire.
The crash happened at the junction of Aylestone Lane and Viking Road, in Wigston, at about 09:20 GMT on Monday.
It was reported that the driver of a tipper lorry had left the scene of the collision before the emergency services arrived, police said.
The cyclist - a man in his 50s - was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is continuing to receive treatment.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision on Monday night. He has since been released under investigation.
Det Con Louise Hough said: "While we've spoken to a number of people about the collision, I am still appealing for any witnesses - and particularly any motorists with dashcams who were in the area - to come forward."
