Boy, 15, dies in stabbing as murder probe launched

A 15-year-old boy has died following a stabbing in West Bromwich.
Police were called to New Square shopping centre at about 21:15 BST on Sunday.
Paramedics also attended and the boy died at the scene, said West Midlands Police, confirming a murder investigation was under way.
A force spokesperson said the boy鈥檚 family had been informed and inquiries were at an early stage.
Det Ch Insp Laura Harrison, from the force's homicide team, said: 鈥淚t is a tragedy that yet another young life has been lost as a result of knife crime.
鈥淥ur immediate thoughts are with the victim鈥檚 family and friends.鈥
She said patrols in the area would be increased and officers were following several lines of inquiry.
