In pictures: Snow in southern England and Channel Islands

Heavy snow and treacherous driving conditions caused many motorists to abandon their journeys on the M23 and A23 in Sussex, with some spending the night in their vehicles.
The snow may have caused a travel headache for many motorists, but on the South Downs, near Brighton, some people appeared to be enjoying every minute of the white-out.
Schools across East and West Sussex were closed as conditions remained too treacherous for teachers and pupils to travel, however the snow is also creating some picturesque scenes, like this one on the seafront in Eastbourne.
Gatwick Airport in West Sussex is open for business but is advising passengers to allow plenty of time to get there.
Cross-Channel train operator Eurostar cancelled all of its services due to bad weather in France and Belgium on Tuesday, and advised passengers not to go to their departure station.
After an inspection, officials decided the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival could go ahead, although the start of racing was delayed. The race course was protected by covers as temperatures dipped to -11C on Monday night.
This was the scene in St Ouen, in the western part of Jersey, where the airport - and schools - have been closed for a second day. Farmer Peter Houguez said he had lived in the island all of his life but never seen anything like it.
However, the weather picture in one part of Cornwall could not be more different. Bright colours abound as spring looks to have well and truly sprung at the Eden Project.
