Driver killed as tree falls on car in Odiham

A driver has been killed after a tree fell and landed on his car following high winds.

The man was driving through Odiham, Hampshire, on the A287 when the tree collapsed at 07:17 BST.

Hampshire Constabulary said the driver died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A stretch of the road between Rye Common and Ewshot was closed to allow an investigation to take place.
