A 拢10,000 reward has been offered by the Crimestoppers charity for information about the suspected murder of a Leicestershire man.
Howard Staff, 66, was attacked in his home in Gibson Close, Wigston, on Monday, during a suspected burglary.
Four men arrested on suspicion of his murder have been released under investigation.
Police said they suspected the victim did not know his attacker. Mr Staff suffered chest injuries and later died.
'A gentle man'
Mr Staff was described by police as a "gentle man" who was no threat to anybody.
Mr Staff's brother, who was injured in the attack, has since been discharged from hospital.
Leicestershire Police said a man had entered Mr Staff's home at around 15:45 GMT before leaving with a small amount of money in a plastic takeaway box.
He left the address heading along Kings Drive, towards Aylestone Lane.
The force said it was believed the man was white and in his 30s. He was dressed in dark clothes and may have been wearing a cap.
Crimestoppers said a reward of up to 拢10,000 would be given to anyone who provided information leading to a conviction.
Four men - two aged 20, one aged 21 and one aged 19 - were arrested on Wednesday and released the following day.
