Graffiti costs Boston Borough Council thousands
An authority in Lincolnshire said a sudden spate of graffiti has cost it thousands of pounds.
Boston Borough Council's anti-social behaviour team photographed graffiti at 89 different sites in less than an hour in Boston town centre.
The authority is working with Lincolnshire Police to catch those responsible.
Mike Brookes joint deputy leader of the council said: "It's plain vandalism, it's not art at all."
Mr Brookes added they thought up to three people were causing the problem.
Boston Borough Council has visited schools with pictures of the tags to try to get the culprits identified.
