Roding Valley Park forest creates 10,000 trees

A woodland consisting of 10,000 trees is being planted in north-east London over one week.
The Trees for Cities project has been working with more than 400 members of the local and business community to plant the trees in Roding Valley Park.
The project will improve the park's wildlife and encourage more Londoners to make use of their local green spaces.
The woodland will have a mix of native tree species and woodland bulbs.
Trees for Cities chief executive Sharon Johnson said the creation of the 10,000-tree urban woodland was Trees for Cities' largest project to date.
"This project couldn't be achieved without the support of our volunteers, who are working alongside local people to create this new woodland area for future generations to enjoy, providing a lung for their neighbourhood and a green view around the busy roads," she said.
The project will create a week-long programme of volunteering opportunies, helping people across London to get involved in improving their local environment.
