Flintshire's Wepre Park has been "returned to its former glory" following a 拢580,000 restoration programme.

The Heritage Lottery Fund project has seen the refurbishment of the Old Hall Gardens, improved footpaths and a visitor centre extension.

The Connah's Quay park is home to the 11th Century Ewloe Castle.

Councillor Bernie Attridge said the project will help "bring the area back to life".

Chairwoman of the Friends of Wepre Park, Bev Futia, said the five-year project had been a "lot of blood, sweat and tears" for volunteers.

She added: "I want to thank all the countryside team and all our volunteers.

"All your hard work has paid off and we now have a wonderful facility and this wonderful park and garden."
