First aid lesson streamed to schools

First aid is a useful skill that can save lives, but not every school has the resources to teach it to everyone.

A team from St John Ambulance is trying a new way of teaching first aid, by streaming live lessons on the internet.

They hope more children will be able to learn first aid this way.

Do you know any first aid?

I have not learnt first aid at school but I would like to learn it. First aid is vital so I wish my school could be told how to use it properly.

Lily, Nuneaton, England

I learnt first aid in school so when my friend collapsed I knew what to do.

Isabel, London, England

I have learnt first aid and would know what to do if an emergency happened and would feel very sure about what I was doing. I learnt first aid at St. John ambulance and I have used first aid a couple of times.

James, England

I learnt first aid at Cubs. I think it is a good idea to know how to save somebody.

Conor, England

I learned first aid at my secondary school in Year 8. We worked with dummies and it was really fun.

Jessica, London, England

We've done two first aid programmes with school. They taught us how to put injured people in the recovery position and how to tell if they are OK.

Danae, London, England

I have learned first aid very briefly at school but I would feel very nervous about helping somebody just in case I got it very wrong.

Laura, Kent, England

I completed my first aid badge in both Girl Guides and Brownies. I really enjoyed it although I am a little squeamish.

Dana, London, England

I do first aid club at school and I think that children need to get involved.

Ollie, Westbury, England

I learned first aid at school when I was little, and then I learned it again in Rainbows, and again in Brownies. I don't think I'd be very confident helping someone, but I'd try to.

Serah, Wales

I go to rookie lifeguard lessons and I now know how to save people who are in danger and struggling in the water. Also we are taught how to treat cuts and bruises as people could be injured when you get them out of the water.

Eleanor, Alfreton, England

I've helped the Red Cross before which I really enjoyed and I would love to learn all about first aid again.

Ella, Hereford, England

I go to St John Ambulance cadets in Devon. It is really fun to learn first aid and today we have badge night where we get our badges.

Holly, Sidmouth, England

My teacher Mrs Harris taught our whole class to put people in the recovery position and then we had to do a play about it.

Mistura, London, England

I learned first aid at home because my mum works at a hospital.
