2017 Oscar nominations announced

This year's Oscar nominations are out. Hit films Moana and Zootopia are amongst the contenders for Best Animated Feature category.

Last year, Pixar's 'Inside Out' won the golden statue, and five films are up for the top award in 2017:

Best Animated Feature:

  • Kubo and the Two Strings
  • Moana
  • My Life as a Zucchini
  • The Red Turtle
  • Zootopia

Musical film 'La La Land' scored a record-equalling 14 nominations in the other categories.

Both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are up for best actor and actress for their roles in the modern musical romance.

British contenders include Dev Patel, up for best supporting actor, Andrew Garfield, for best actor, and musician Sting, nominated for best song.

The ceremony takes place on 26 February.
