The British Ecological Society鈥檚 annual photography competition is all about showcasing the beauty of the natural world and humanity's relationship with the planet. Take a look at some of the amazing images from this year's contest... Photographer Nick Royle caught this photo with loads of flamingos along the shores of Lake Nakuru, in Kenya.
This photo of a Malabar giant squirrel won the Networks in Nature category. The squirrel, also known as the Indian giant squirrel, is multi-coloured and usually found in forests and woodlands in India.
This picture was crowned overall winner of the competition. It shows a damsel fish camouflaged within a coral reef. Viktor Nunes Peinemann took the photo and said it was a huge honour to win: "It is a bittersweet privilege to be able to experience and capture some of the beauty of these coral reefs even as they decline in the face of climate change".
The bigger picture student category winner was also Viktor Nunes Peinemann. They caught this image of waves crashing over a shallow reef in Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea.
This image by Doron Talmi was captured on an early winter morning. Every migration season over half a billion migratory birds fly over the Agamon Hula nature park in northern Israel. It is an important migration route for the birds.
Fayz Khan won the overall student category with their image of the Kenyan Rift Valley lakes. The lakes used to be formed by freshwater floods, but now they are dangerous to animals and plant life. Khan said: "The light orange seems to signal hope, the darker colours danger."
