It was Halloween week on Strictly and the last for TV presenter Zara McDermott, who was chosen to leave the show along with her dance partner Graziano Di Prima.

Zara found herself in the bottom two for the third time in six weeks, after dropping to the bottom of the leader board on Saturday.

It meant she once again faced the dance-off, this time against actor Adam Thomas, who found himself in the bottom two for the first time.

The judges chose to save Ryan and his partner Luba, which meant Zara said goodbye to the famous dancefloor and glitterball trophy.

Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke were united in their decision to save Adam over Zara.

Anton said: "Both couples danced very well" but "the couple with the better quality" was Adam and Luba.

Zara and Graziano put on a spook-tacular performance of their Charleston to Jeepers Creepers.

Still wearing her skeleton costume after the round of spooky-themed routines, Zara was in tears, but said: "I've had the time of my life

"It was the most amazing experience. It almost doesn't feel real that this is happening and it's over but I'm gonna be here in spirit every week in spirit performing them."

Her partner Graziano was full of praise for Zara saying: "She is literally what Strictly is all about - a real novice, coming in, putting all the hard [work in]. You have such a good soul. You are so humble and I say thank you that I found a friend like you."

He added: "I have learnt so much from you and your hard work within six weeks. You have never danced before. I am so proud of you. So proud of you, honestly."

The result leaves nine couples in the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, after Amanda Abbington pulled out of the competition last week for "personal reasons".
