Sabrina Carpenter breaks UK chart record
US singer Sabrina Carpenter has just broken a UK chart record.
The popstar has become the first female artist to hold both the number one and number two spots on the official singles chart for three weeks in a row.
Her song Please Please Please stayed in the top spot on this week's chart, while her previous song Espresso held on at number two.
Both songs were streamed more than seven million times over the last week.
The only other female artists to have held the number one and two spots at the same time are Madonna, in 1985, and Ariana Grande in 2019.
But Sabrina Carpenter is the first to achieve three weeks in a row.
In the past the record was held by The Beatles in 1963 and 1967, and more recently by Justin Bieber who scored four weeks in the top two slots in 2015.
Meanwhile Ed Sheeran racked up five weeks on two occasions in 2017.
