Sheeran or Swift? Who is the most played artist in the UK?
- Published
Eyes Closed singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has done it again by topping the annual list of most played artists in the UK.
A company called PPL, who license music in the UK and make sure artists get paid when their songs are broadcast in public places, has released its list of the most-played songs and artists of 2023.
The list doesn't include the number of streams a song has - the data comes from UK plays on radio, TV, and in public places like shops, bars and restaurants.
Ed was beaten to the top spot of most played song in the UK by Miley Cyrus with her break-up smash hit Flowers.
