Help playing audio/video Mint Ive... It's a peculiar name and I had to ask why? Lead singer Will Lillejord came up with the answer. "I was sitting in my car after work and I said to my mate 'I need a name for the band', and this guy, who delivers papers, came cycling around the corner and I said 'oh, there's Mint Ive'. "My mate said that's it!" Will Lillejord and Oliver Chetty Will and guitarist Ollie Chetty, say the name is often misconstrued as being pretentious. However, there's nothing haughty about these two. Down-to-earth and supportive of other Nottingham bands, they just want to improve and put on a good show. Will says: "We don't want to say anything political or anything like that, we just want to play good music. "We pride ourselves on our live show [and] rarely let people down. We love playing live." Will Lillejord This is evident from the reviews. Nightfly Magazine said they are "the best band Nottingham has had to offer for some time." They also have a fan in Mani, from the Stone Roses and Primal Scream, he dubbed Mint Ive 'a proper band'. A tribute that perhaps, doesn't get much better. So, if you can't get to see them play, watch a stripped-down version of 'Paint a Picture':
