Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Last Night of the Proms goes global

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Worldwide Music announces today that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Last Night of the Proms will be broadcast live via satellite from The Royal Albert Hall to cinemas across the world. Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Worldwide Music is working with partners By Experience and SuperVision Media, to allow international music lovers to simultaneously experience what is billed as the 'biggest classical music party in the world'.

This is a landmark venture for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Music content, presenting one of Britain's most iconic music events on the big screen and in digital surround sound. Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Last Night of the Proms is traditionally sold as a music programme to international broadcasters and will this year been shown in over fifteen territories around the world including Japan, Germany, Norway and Australia.

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Last Night of the Proms will be screened in cinema chains in Canada, South Africa, USA, Australia, Asia and New Zealand on September 12th (September 13th in time delayed territories) and tickets can be purchased from local box offices.

The ethos of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Proms is to make classical music accessible and modern technology is extending this to music fans globally. By Experience has a wealth of experience in providing arts content to theatric audiences internationally as the company behind the hugely successful Metropolian Opera HD and National Theatre Live concepts. SuperVision Media also has a heritage in this field having brought Formula 1 racing to the big screen. Last Night of the Proms marks the first in a season of Arts programming from SuperVision.

The Proms were founded in 1895. The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú began running them in 1927 and since then the Last Night has become one of the most famous musical events in the world, watched and listened to by millions. The 2009 season, which began on July 17th, consists of 100 concerts and will culminate with a powerful finale on September 12th that will feature leading international artists and an all-embracing musical programme that introduces new works alongside much-loved classics.

Salim Mukaddam, Head of Commercial Affairs at Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Worldwide Music said: "This is the first time Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Music content will be screened in cinemas around the world and we're excited to take such an amazing concert to global audiences. The Royal Albert Hall holds around 5,250 people but this deal will allow fans to be part of the experience no matter where they are in the world. Hopefully this will be the first of many theatrical events from Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Worldwide Music."

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Last Night of the Proms is also broadcast live on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio 3. The first half is shown on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú TWO and the second part on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú ONE. It is also available via the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú iPlayer for up to seven days after the broadcast.
