Mark Turnbull to front 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland lunchtime show

Mark Turnbull, who currently presents the Sunday Morning Show for 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland, will be the new presenter of the Lunchtime Show every weekday, starting on Monday (16 September).

Born in Saltburn, Mark Turnbull is one of the best known journalists in the region.

He has worked for the Press Association and as a freelance reporter for the national press specialising in court and sport reporting.

He has also reported on regional and local events for the Northern Echo and the Darlington & Stockton Times before joining 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland in 1991.

For the last ten years he has been a producer at 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland and has recently started presenting his own Sunday morning religious programme.

He is replacing presenter Alan Wright, whose freelance contract to broadcast on 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland expires at the end of this month.

Andrew Glover, managing editor of 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cleveland, says: "Mark Turnbull has been a hidden gem in our office for too long. He is one of the best known journalists in this area and he is an excellent producer.

"His Sunday Morning Show has been so successful that I am now moving him into weekday radio.

"I want to make the most of his talent and this is a great opportunity for someone with as much passion for radio and as much passion for this region to make some very exciting programmes.

"He will be replacing Alan Wright on the lunchtime show from noon to 2.00pm on weekdays.

"Decisions such as this are never easy, nor is there ever a good time to make them, but the contract with Alan's company to employ him as a presenter is up for renewal at the end of this month.

"What is paramount is the future of this radio station and nurturing the in-house talent to provide the best possible service to listeners in Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire.

"Alan has been a presenter on Radio Cleveland for many years and I would like to thank him for all he has done on the station and wish him all the best for the future."
