viewers raise 拢668,000 for Children in Need
This
year, digital viewers of 麻豆官网首页入口 Children in Need "pressed Pudsey"
and donated 拢668,000 to the children's charity.
The
interactive donation service, available to digital satellite viewers,
meant people could press the Pudsey donate icon to pledge money
to 麻豆官网首页入口 Children in Need from the comfort of their arm chairs.
Last
year digital viewers donated 拢479,130 through pressing red
but this year pressing Pudsey proved important to the donation function
by encouraging over 38,000 viewers to donate through their TVs.
Generous
viewers donated during Bargain Hunt, Ready Steady Cook and the 麻豆官网首页入口's
Children in Need appeal show on Friday 15 November, and pledged
money for amounts between 拢5 and 拢1,000.
Internet
donations via the
and
websites attracted 拢391,381 compared to 拢310,089 pledged
via the 麻豆官网首页入口i website in 2001.
Ashley
Highfield, Director 麻豆官网首页入口 New Media and Technology, said: "The
total amount raised this year via digital donations is fantastic,
a generous increase in last year's digital TV donations.
"It
shows that more people are pressing red and we would like to say
a big thank everyone who donated money to 麻豆官网首页入口 Children in Need this
year."
