Rugby reporter Jill Douglas returns to 麻豆官网首页入口


Sports reporter Jill Douglas, formerly of Sky Television, has joined the 麻豆官网首页入口's rugby team.


Her first outing will be this Saturday as pitch-side reporter for the France v Wales game in Paris, on the final weekend of the RBS Six Nations championship.


Jill will be reporting before the anthems, give news updates on both teams throughout the game, and carry out post match interviews.


Jill has worked in news and sport for most of her career, and is an experienced rugby reporter.


In 1997 she worked for 麻豆官网首页入口 Scotland, presenting Rugby Special. She also worked across television and radio, reporting for Scotland as well as providing news for Grandstand.


In 1999, Jill joined Sky Sports as a sportsnews presenter, and was also involved in their rugby, providing extensive coverage of Super 12s and the National Provincial Championship (NPC).


Golden League athletics was her other major project, and Jill travelled around Europe reporting on the meetings.


Jill grew up near Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, which is the rugby heartland of Scotland. She is a lifelong supporter of Hawick Rugby Club.


Jill聮s career began in local newspapers in the Borders and she studied journalism at Napier College in Edinburgh.


Jill said: "I'm thrilled to be re-joining the 麻豆官网首页入口 Sport team at this time. I'm a huge rugby fan and this weekend sees the climax of a highly competitive Six Nations so I'm delighted to be involved."


Former 麻豆官网首页入口 commentator and Hawick man, Bill MacLaren, added: "That's great; I'm delighted for her and delighted for the 麻豆官网首页入口.


"She'll be an acquisition, as she loves rugby and really knows her game.


"I've admired her work on TV and she's a very competent artist. I'll look forward to seeing her in action this weekend."
