HARDtalk with Samuel P Jackson, Liberian Cabinet Minister

On 麻豆官网首页入口 News 24's HARDtalk tonight, Tim Sebastian interviews Samuel P Jackson, Liberian Cabinet Minister.

A ceasefire has begun in Liberia, bringing hope for a full peace agreement between government forces and rebel groups within 30 days.

Rebel troops are believed to occupy two thirds of Liberian territory and are putting pressure on President Charles Taylor to step down.

Samuel Jackson is one of Liberia's key peace negotiators for the government. After thirteen broken peace agreements and fourteen years of brutal war, will this deal hold?

The rebels are already accusing soldiers loyal to President Charles Taylor of breaking the ceasefire and attacking their positions in the east of the country.

Samuel Jackson talks to Tim Sebastian about the prospects for peace, and the recent indictment of Charles Taylor on war crimes.

HARDtalk is on 麻豆官网首页入口 News 24 tonight (Monday 23 June) at 11.30pm.
